This is my first post in a while. That’s probaly because my family and I have been going through some pretty significant changes, not least of which is the move to full-time nomadic living in our converted school bus.

We’ve been living out of our self-converted bus for 2 strange, wonderful, stressful, fascinating months. We’ve gone from Longmont Colorado to Rapid City, South Dakota, then all the way down to Alabama to spend time with family over the holidays. That’s over 1500 miles in this 20 year old vehicle, and its been solid.

We decided to live this way for a variety of reasons, not least of which is the freedom this lifestyle provides. For the most part, we can be where we want and we can stay there for as long as we want. This has some significant implications for landscape photography, seeing as we can get to a location and wait for light, weather, and so on.

Already we’ve seen more impressive sights, although we haven’t taken any photo-dedicated trips yet. We had to stop for around a month in South Dakota, and although we weren’t able to take much advantage of that time photographically, we were able to make a short trip to Badlands National Park. While there I was able to capture the below images, which I’m hoping are a harbinger of things to come for that location in the future.
