"Bodies" Takes home 1st Place

I’m honored to announce that “Bodies” has taken 1st place in the International Photography Awards Professional Fine Art Landscape Category. This image has resonated with me, and I’m happy to say that it has with others as well. Taken in 830nm infrared, a small group of clouds blocked the sun save for the top of a butte on an otherwise clear day. The lack of visible light recorded on the sensor helped to clarify the moon against a dark sky which would otherwise be far brighter.

Taken on my full spectrum converted Fuji GFX 100, this image is one of many recent photographs that have taken advantage of and more than justified the cost and process to convert the GFX to full spectrum. Swapping wavelengths to cater to the scene is an ability that I’m not sure I’ll be able to move away from now, having had it pay such dividends already in the first year of having the converted camera.

I’m also happy to report that “Chromatic Guise” received an honorable mention in the same contest.
