Full Spectrum

Last year I sent my GFX to be converted to full spectrum, replacing the UV/IR cut filter in front of the sensor with more or less clear glass. This allows the sensor to see not just visible light, but also near infrared and UV light. By selectively choosing which wavelengths to record, landscapes we take for granted can be shown in a literally different light. The color relationships become disjointed, and hues we’re accustomed to are missing. This can help shift one’s perspective of a place and allow the mind to discover a new version of a familiar location.
