Writing from a quiet lake in Virginia amidst a subtle breeze filled with falling leaves, I’m happy to report Tiffany and I have returned to full time travel.

In December 2024 we purchased a Ford Transit and started building it out into a camper between projects. We “finished” the build in late September, sold our house, and as of October 9th, 2025 we are fully mobile again.

Though I had the opportunity to travel for work, remaining static in our home town over the years was beginning to take its toll. It’s hard to describe, but I think I felt stagnant. Now, however, I can feel my mind and body remembering why we chose to be nomadic in the first place. It seems to me that Tiffany and I both thrive off of change, and moving between environments and locations while solving simple problems like where to find water and where to sleep at night provides a level of mental (and physical) exercise that we weren’t finding. The ups and downs of constant travel make for an activating day to day experience that our previous routine was never able to provide.

Now, however, we’re activated on a daily basis. We’re spending extended periods of time outdoors, solving problems, and experiencing new places. Being on the road also provides obvious opportunities to make new work. Though most of the landscapes I seek out are in the western US, we’re taking time to explore the Eastern US as we push north to enjoy fall color and appreciate the older mountains of Appalachia. The rolling hills of Virginia and Pennsylvania have been a pleasure so far.

Though I haven’t spent much time with the GFX on a tripod, the Leica has come out several times and continues to be a low pressure, high rewards option for casually making images.

Even so, the iphone is a reliable if not romantic camera to deploy at the right time.
