“The Charge of Selene” depicts a full moon rising above the badlands of South Dakota.
The moon appears low and dim enough at the beginning of the 15 minute exposure to record information and texture, gradually increasing in altitude and brightness in a diagonal line, streaking from motion blur. The lower badlands enjoy low noise and ample detail with color information. The atmosphere is subtly illuminated with a color gradation defining the buttes on the horizon.
